Sending a request does not confirm a booking. We'll check the journey, timing, item and capacity, then reply.

Ayrward-branded van on a moorland road

Local miles, combined in Muirkirk.

Instead of treating every collection or delivery as a separate trip, Ayrward brings suitable local work together into one practical, hyperlocal service.

Local collections and deliveries

Suitable items collected from businesses and organisations and delivered on planned journeys serving Muirkirk, subject to availability, access, and vehicle capacity. Local residents may also request suitable work and support the pilot.

Practical local loads

Ayrward's own current capacity reaches Transit Custom L2 size. Customers describe the load first and Ayrward confirms whether it fits.

One clear local plan.

  1. Send the details.

Give the collection and delivery points, what is travelling, any deadline, and relevant access information.

  2. We assess the job.

Ayrward checks availability, route, size, handling requirements, and whether the request fits this pilot.

  3. We confirm everything.

The customer receives the agreed price, timing, collection details, and intended recipient before the booking is accepted.

  4. We carry it through.

Ayrward collects and hands over the item as agreed.

One handover. One local Muirkirk round.

Ayrward is inviting parcel carriers, courier firms and distributors to discuss handing over suitable Muirkirk rounds for local completion—and using Ayrward to aggregate local collections. Combining those final miles could keep regular couriers working closer to their own localities, keep van routes productive, and reduce the occasions when a Muirkirk delivery waits because there is not enough driver time or nearby work to justify the journey.

This is an invitation to explore a pilot arrangement, not a claim of any existing carrier partnership, endorsement, or service agreement.

Have a car or van—and the right cover?

Ayrward wants to hear from dependable local drivers interested in occasional work. Drivers do not need an electric vehicle. Lower-emission options are preferred where practical, but the right vehicle, proper cover, reliability, and local knowledge matter more. Drivers need a valid licence, a suitable roadworthy vehicle, and the relevant hire-and-reward and goods-in-transit cover. Larger-van drivers in Muirkirk are especially welcome because Ayrward's own current capacity tops out at Transit Custom L2.

Temporary on-duty cover may be available for specific work, but only where eligibility has been checked and cover is separately confirmed before the job.

Registering interest does not guarantee work.

Future—not current

A future healthcare conversation—not a current service.

Once the pilot basics have been proven, Ayrward hopes to discuss with the medical centre at Tanyard and Muirkirk's pharmacy whether local letter and prescription delivery could help Muirkirk clinic patients. Predictable, useful journeys of this kind could matter to the economic viability and repeatability of a rural localmiles service while improving access for people in rural communities. That is why the conversation matters; it is not a service announcement.

No agreement is in place. Letters, prescriptions, and other healthcare items cannot be booked through Ayrward during this pilot. Any future service would be for Muirkirk clinic patients—not Cumnock—and would proceed only with the organisations' agreement and appropriate operational safeguards.

Start in Muirkirk. Learn what can travel.

Ayrward is testing whether demand from residents, organisations, and parcel operators can be combined into enough useful paid miles to sustain a truly local delivery service. If the pilot succeeds, the model could be adapted for other rural communities where delivery is irregular, unavailable, or disproportionately expensive.

In time, the same approach could help carriers, distributors, and postal operators—including Royal Mail—reduce avoidable rural delivery costs. That is an ambition, not a current partnership or promised saving.
